Candidate Targets

Candidate targets for therapeutic intervention are defined here as proteins with an entry or ortholog in PDB. We have generated tables for a representative strain of each of the NMPDR organisms that include all proteins with known structures, regardless of whether there exists evidence for likely therapeutic intervention. These "virtual," or orthologous structural proteomes are presented with links to PDB. From these tables and manual curation of the literature, we have also classified some of these proteins as targets for drugs, antitoxins, or vaccines. These subsets are presented in tables that include links to PDB, NMPDR protein pages, and the literature.

Proteins with annotated target attributes

Drug Targets are defined as proteins for which there is published evidence of essentiality, virulence association, or antibiotic susceptibility. Click a name in the organism column of the drug targets table to show only the targets for that organism.

Antitoxin Targets are defined as proteins for which there is published evidence of toxin activity.

Vaccine Targets are defined as proteins for which there is published evidence of surface expression.
