The gene display options control the display of genes in the NMPDR Search Results.

  • If Sort by Function is checked, the search output will be sorted by functional role.
  • If Show Protein Sequence is checked, the search output will contain the amino acid sequence for each ProteinEncodingGene.
  • If Show Alias Links is checked, the search output will contain a column for the aliases of each gene. You can specify a short prefix in the text box to force sorting of a particular type of alias to the front of the list.

In the search result fragment below, Show Alias Links has been specified and the prefix is cds. This has caused the alias cds.1080 to appear first in the alias list for fig|360108.3.peg.1080. There is no alias for fig|195099.3.peg.147 beginning with cds, so its alias list is unchanged.
