Tobias Paczian has studied Bioinformatics at the University of Bielefeld where he completed his masters degree in 2005. He is working as a senior programmer for the University of Chicago at the Argonne National Laboratory. His main focus is developing web applications to support visualization, manipulation and analysation of genomic data.

NMPDR is a collaboration among researchers from the Computation Institute of the University of Chicago, the Fellowship for Interpretation of Genomes (FIG), Argonne National Laboratory, and the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) at the University of Illinois.
